Century Direct Group: 66% stillbirth happens in India
Century Direct Group received reports that according to the latest statistics 66% of babies born still born occurs in India. And according to some the number maybe grossly underestimated. British journal “The Lancet” published statistics that in India more than 7, 200 babies born still born each day. It also estimated that by 2020, 90% of worldwide stillborn will be occurring in South Asia.
Most stillbirths occur during labor and the reason behind death is often the lack of proper health care. In India stillbirth is still taboo and women having gone through a stillbirth is looked down at. To improve the rates country needs to advance obstetrician and prenatal care.
